Sources close to developing the tagline said the “out-of-the-box and simple” tagline aims to bring out the authenticity of Sri Lanka’s tourism product with greater engagement with travellers and locals. 

Speaking to Mirror Business, Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) Chairman Dehan Seneviratne, who was not in a position to reveal the new tagline officially, however noted that the new tagline would be officially launched at WTM in London, on November 5.

3,560 arrested in countrywide raid

A total of 3,560 people were arrested for various offences and another 6,020 had been charged with traffic violations during a four-hour special countrywide raid carried out by the Police this morning.

Police Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekera said the raid was carried out from 3.00 a.m to 7. 00 a.m today and more than 18,000 Police officers took part.

Two bodies have been recovered from a pond in Chaska, Minnesota, during a search for two women who went missing in the early hours of Saturday (October 13).

The families of cousins Bushra Abdi and Zeynab “Hafsa” Abdalla, both 19, called police after they failed to return home from their respective night shifts over the weekend.

The cousins reportedly left their workplaces on Saturday just before 3 a.m. Abdalla, who works in Shakopee, arrived to pick up Abdi, who works in Chaska.

A beauty queen, Khanittha Phasaeng from Thailand has emerged as the winner in a national beauty pageant competition called Miss Uncensored News Thailand and has admitted that she used to be a garbage collector.

17-year-old Khanittha “Mint” Phasaeng has been helping her mother to collect garbage in order to support themselves. She also had to give up her studies after her sixth year in high school, as her mother couldn’t afford her school fees.
NASA has said search and rescue teams are on their way to the Russian Soyuz MS-10 spacecraft capsule after an issue with its booster rockets meant the two astronauts on board had to abort their mission to the International Space Station (ISS).

It launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan with Russian cosmonaut Alexey Ovchinin and American astronaut Nick Hague onboard, but they were forced to abandon their flight to the ISS within minutes. They were scheduled for a six-month stay on the ISS.

A team of 30 Sri Lankan Police Officers participated in a comprehensive training program on Industrial Security at the National Industrial Security Academy (NISA) in Hyderabad, India. The course was organised from 24th to 28th of September.

Nikki Haley in remarks on her resignation as United States ambassador to the United Nations on Tuesday morning praised President Donald Trump's family members in the White House and called his son-in-law Jared Kushner a "hidden genius."

Male Fertility Linked to Penis Size

Scientists at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, set out to answer whether penis size affects a man's fertility, and found that men with organs measuring 12.5 centimetres on average struggled to conceive compared with those who measured 13.4 centimetres. This is believed to be the first study to make the association between fertility and penis length. 

According to the U.S. Department of Health, infertility is defined as when a couple cannot conceive after one year of unprotected intercourse. The causes of infertility can be varied and accumulative, but testicular problems are the most common cause in men followed by hormone problems and blockages. In half of the cases, no definitive cause can be pinpointed. 

Humans Can Recognize Up to 10,000 Faces

The research, published in Proceedings of the Royal Society B: Biological Sciences, was carried out by Rob Jenkins, from the Department of Psychology at the University of York, and colleagues.
Pakistan successfully launched and tested on Monday its Ghauri Missile System, which can carry conventional and nuclear warheads with a range of more than 800 miles.

Army Strategic Forces Command Lieutenant-General Mian Muhammad Hilal Hussain hailed the test as a successful demonstration of the military’s operational and technical readiness.

scientists have found what could be the first confirmed exomoon—a moon orbiting a planet outside our own solar system—and it appears to be absolutely huge.

Using NASA's Hubble Space Telescope and Kepler Space Telescope, researchers discovered what appears to be a Neptune-sized object orbiting the planet Kepler-1625b. This is a Jupiter-sized planet located around 8,000 light-years from Earth. The study by Columbia University astronomers Alex Teachey and David Kipping is published in Science Advances.
A federal judge has indicated that he might dismiss a defamation suit against President Trump that was brought against him by porn star Stormy Daniels.

According to Bloomberg News, Judge S. James Otero, who is a US District Court judge in Los Angeles, weighed in on the suit, which comes from a Trump tweet calling Daniels a “total con job,” via Twitter.
