Earlier this month, Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny posted a video investigation that used the Instagram posts of a woman with the handle Nastya Rybka to build a corruption investigation involving one of Russia's wealthiest men and a powerful government official. 

Rybka — who is actually a Belarus-born woman named Anastasia Vashukevich — works as an escort, which is how she wound up posting a video of her and others cavorting with Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska. Also seen in the video hanging out on Deripaska's yacht: Russian Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Prikhodko, which Nalvany said showed the close link between oligarchs and the Russian government. 
UNP MP Mangala Samaraweera yesterday charged that a sum of Rs.4 billion had gone out of Sri Lanka as the net outflow from the equity market as a result of the decision by President Maithripala Sirisena to appoint a new Prime Minister.

Sources close to developing the tagline said the “out-of-the-box and simple” tagline aims to bring out the authenticity of Sri Lanka’s tourism product with greater engagement with travellers and locals. 

Speaking to Mirror Business, Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) Chairman Dehan Seneviratne, who was not in a position to reveal the new tagline officially, however noted that the new tagline would be officially launched at WTM in London, on November 5.
Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa today said that he didn’t believe that the Cabinet Ministers would have any links with the RAW (Research and Analysis Wing) of India.

Responding to journalists after visiting the Henakaduwa Temple at Tangalle, Mr Rajapaksa, however, said the act of one of the Ministers working for the RAW would amount to treason.

3,560 arrested in countrywide raid

Two bodies have been recovered from a pond in Chaska, Minnesota, during a search for two women who went missing in the early hours of Saturday (October 13).

The families of cousins Bushra Abdi and Zeynab “Hafsa” Abdalla, both 19, called police after they failed to return home from their respective night shifts over the weekend.

NASA has said search and rescue teams are on their way to the Russian Soyuz MS-10 spacecraft capsule after an issue with its booster rockets meant the two astronauts on board had to abort their mission to the International Space Station (ISS).

It launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan with Russian cosmonaut Alexey Ovchinin and American astronaut Nick Hague onboard, but they were forced to abandon their flight to the ISS within minutes. They were scheduled for a six-month stay on the ISS.
