Champika leaves Sajith's SJB and becomes independent - Support for 21

It is reported that Champika Ranawaka, a Member of Parliament for the Samagi Janabalawegaya and the Leader of the 43 Division is preparing to leave Sajaben and become an Independent Member of Parliament when Parliament convenes next week.

It is said that the reason for this is the alleged deal between Sajaba leader Sajith Premadasa and Basil Rajapaksa. However, political sources say that Champika is planning to become an independent parliamentarian and support Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.

The sources further confirmed that the 43 Division including Champika will openly join Ranil as soon as the 21st Amendment is passed in Parliament.

Champika and Ranil have had discussions at various levels from time to time throughout the past
